Triple Your Retention
A growing number of service providers offer Triple Play video, data and voice services to their customers. This change has been proven to reduce customer churn and protect fixed lines from attrition. CopperGate has played a big part in this new service by delivering huge amounts of Home Entertainment Network bandwidth over existing wires. So far, CopperGate has helped increase ARPU by over $1 billion for its service provider customers through the delivery of additional triple play services.
How does Triple Play Work?
Typically the Triple Play bundle includes HDTV-based IPTV, Video on Demand (VoD), broadband Internet services and VoIP. In most cases, the Triple Play bundle is supplied by the service provider via a single infrastructure such as xDSL (ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL) or FTTx that terminates in a Residential Gateway (RG) located either in the home or on an external wall. This architecture calls for a high-speed multimedia local area home network that will distribute the Triple Play services from the RG throughout the house, making them accessible from TVs, PCs, telephones and other consumer devices in any room in the home.
VIDEO: CopperGate's MAC is Highly Flexible and Efficient
Mileend Gadkari, Director of Business Development describes how CopperGate's MAC technology is optimized for Triple Play.
CopperGate provides a breakthrough platform that enables the distribution and networking of Triple Play services and multimedia content residence-wide. CopperGate chipset solutions establish high-speed, QoS, Plug-and-Play, "no new wires" transmission networks over existing, coax, phone or powerline wiring.
That means by embedding CopperGate's solution inside their deployed Residential Gateways and IP-STBs, service providers can deliver residence-wide Triple Play services without rewiring customers' homes, thus drastically reducing the cost of implementation.
