CopperGate Communications is a system-on-chip company that develops markets and sells chipsets for the home networking and MDU/MTU Broadband Access markets.
Based on its unique, patented CopperStream™ technology, CopperGate provides system-on-chip (SoC) products to the multimedia-oriented home networking and MDU broadband access markets. CopperGate’s products support the simultaneous provision of multiple channels with up to 320Mbps data rates and stringent QoS requirements over existing coax and telephone wires.
Founded in 2000, CopperGate is a privately held company with headquarters and R&D center located in Tel Aviv, Israel. A North American marketing and support office is located in Newark, California. The company has a branch office in Taiwan and representatives in China and Japan. Principal investors in the company include Tamir Fishman Ventures, Carmel Ventures, Motorola Ventures and The Challenge Fund – Etgar L.P.
With a highly skilled and dedicated team the company has succeeded in making its CopperStream™ technology into the cornerstone of a worldwide networking standard (ITU G.9954), and introducing the first standard-compliant chipset to the market.
The company’s products are sold to manufacturers of equipment for the home and SOHO broadband access and content distribution markets, such as residential gateways and routers, media servers, set-top boxes and various network adaptors, cards and bridges.
CopperGate is a Promoter level member of the HomePNA Alliance.
